Email Message (06/01/2010)

The email below is from Sheryl Stacey, our team Parent Coordinator. You may have already received it, but we are not sure if it was sent to all families. Please see below and thank you in advance for your help.

To my fellow swim team parents:

In case you weren’t able to make it to the parent meeting tonight, Joey announced that the Park and Rec dept has asked us to sell water at the Framingham High School graduation this Sunday, June 6th at Tercentennial Park. The Park and Rec dept is allowing this water sale to be a fundraiser for the team. With 4000 expected attendees, this potentially can be a huge fundraiser for us (especially if it is a hot day). We are very grateful, but there is a very short time to coordinate our efforts, since we just learned of this opportunity this week. We are asking swim team families to donate cases of water (16.9 fl oz/.5liter size) and bring the water to practice on Wednesday night (tomorrow) or Thursday night, or bring it directly to the Buck family’s home at 46 Fox Hill Rd by Thursday afternoon. The Bucks have volunteered to store the water at their house until we deliver it to the site on Friday.

Obviously the more donations we can collect from families, the less water we have to buy, and the more money we can make for the team. If any parents have business connections to solicit water donations, or are willing to solicit area businesses (stop and shop, shaws, market basket, fast food restaurants ect) please contact Joey, so he doesn’t duplicate efforts.

If anyone has the ability to help deliver the water we’ve collected at the Buck’s house to the site during the day on Friday, please let me know.

Lastly, we are also looking for volunteers to sell water on Sunday, June 6th 11:30-3:30. Because parking will be difficult, we need swimmers to commit to the full 4 hours. The Park and Rec is requiring us (swimmers and adults) to wear our swim team t shirts. We are required to give the names of our volunteers to Park and Rec in advance, so anyone who is interested in helping, should contact me.

Thank you in advance for all your support!
