Guidelines & Expectations

Behavior
  • The team has a zero tolerance policy for any behavior that puts people, property or the team at risk. Behavior that, in the opinion of the coaches and of the Framingham Recreation Department, is inappropriate will be grounds for suspension or dismissal from the team.  If any conflict arises, please let a member of the coaching staff know immediately.

Practice

  • We encourage all swimmers to attend every practice.
  • Bring a suit, goggles, fins, cap and water bottle to every practice. Bring an extra of each item.
  • Please be on deck and ready to swim 5 minutes before start time.
  • Check the calendar daily for schedule changes.

Meets

  • Swimmers are expected to attend every meet. If you must miss a meet, please inform Joey immediately (white binder). If nothing is marked down in the white binder, we expect you to be there.
  • Meet warm-ups begin at 5:30 PM, meets start at 6:00 PM. Swimmers must SIGN IN by 5:10 PM. Please stay until the end of the meet and let Joey know if you cannot.  .
  • Wear team apparel to all meets (team shirt, mesh shorts, suit, cap).
  • Meet for the bus to all away meets at 3:40 PM at Bowditch Field. We have 5 away meets. We will only have 1 bus and we ask that swimmers only take it if they need to. The cost is $2 per swimmer to ride the bus. Parents may follow the bus.
  • Please let Joey know if you are unable to attend one of the regional meets (blue binder).

Parents

  • Our program relies heavily on parental involvement. We will need volunteers for every meet. Jobs include: timing, scorekeeping, place-judging, officiating, bullpen, and snack bar. In the white binder you can find a volunteer sign-up sheet for each meet. We ask that all families volunteer to help at least once. The effort made by our team’s parents is incredible and we thank you in advance for your continued support.

Team Events

  • Our team events (movie night, team party, and pasta party) are always lots of fun! They give the swimmers an opportunity to get to know each other and grow closer outside of the pool. Many of these events will provide positive and memorable experiences for the kids. These events are an important social aspect of the team. We’d like everyone to come!
